Phil earned another 35 cool-points for arriving late to class but his trusty teachers assistants saved the day by sharing two video clips to prepare us for the lecture as we wait,

Phil taught us that our perception of the 1950′s is almost identical to what we have seen from this show, “Leave it to Beaver.”  When in reality there were many cruel and disturbing social issues occurring during this time period (Montgomery Alabama, Violence Equal Rights, Fear of Nuclear Weapons, etc…) Read the rest of this entry »

Ready, Set, Throw! (Sep.15th)

Today Phil adquired 22 more cool points for his timely arrival and was saved by the teachers assistant who started off class in an official manner. “Vida Games” was the opening line by Cameron Simek as we shared our blog subject aloud. Then we split up into groups with as much empathy and concern for one anothers’ self-esteem as a group of elementary school students picking teams for a game dodge-ball. Phil gave us insight to the classes schedule, announcing that Tuesdays will be possible “Lecture Bombs”  and Thursdays would blog oriented (splitting into our groups to collaborate and improve our entries) and have quiz’.

To finish off the class, as promised Phil shared a wonderful dance clip that kept more than a few of us in the room after the life consuming circle of time on the wall commanded us to leave with out a word,     “Girl walk all Day!” Phil won todays quote of the day with the following statement, as he tried to calm a few of his students concerned about the grading equality of the blog groups, while simultaneously pocking his forehead, “Even I knew that and I’m bad at math!”
